Bletchley Park (www.bletchleypark.org.uk), one of Britain’s most important museums to present IT history, now welcomes visitors with a multimedia guide, which is included in the normal admission price.
Developed by ATS Heritage (www.ats-heritage.co.uk), specialists of video and creative content guides, Bletchley’s multimedia guide aims to provide museum services to meet more fully twenty-first century expectations by visitors. The handheld media player is easy to use, and allows visitors, at their own pace and in their own time, to explore the home of one-time codebreakers informatively. The first version, now introduced, is a tour that guides adult visitors through the exhibition, and ATS Heritage is about to come out with another version, a family tour of the museum (expected to be launched later in the summer).
The multimedia guide, with commentary by BBC History presenter, Jonathan Foyle, introduces the legendary blocks and buildings in Bletchley Park, provides exciting stories about the institution and people who had worked there, and also includes interviews, film extracts and photographs.
The forthcoming family guide will be entertaining and educational including more stories and even puzzles for children. The management of the museum is extremely pleased with the first guide.
