Exhibition on the history of autonomous vehicles

The well-known Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, will open a new exhibition Where to? A History of Autonomous Vehicles. Visitors can get acquainted with the history of self-driving cars, learn about visions in sci-fi and pop culture, and take a close look at Google?s self-driving car. First of all, however, visitors are offered an insight into the technology and operation of self-driving vehicles.

?Every year 1.2 million people are killed worldwide in traffic-related accidents. It is the mission of the developers? team of Google self-driving car to protect human life more efficiently by transforming mobility. We aim to make driving safer, more enjoyable, and more efficient,? says the press release by Google, a co-partner to the exhibition.

Thanks to the information and communication technology giant, visitors can test the self-driving car. Three persons at a time can get a twenty-minute experience of what it is like to ride in a self-driving car. Minors aged between 8-17 are allowed to get a ride provided that they are accompanied by parents (and prior registration is made). The rides will start and end at the Museum.
